CONTI POLYROPE at Interlift 2023
Many major manufacturers presented new models of motors for flat belt elevator drives here.
There are major changes in the field of elevator drives and lift carriers. The major elevator equipment and motor manufacturers from Italy, Montanari and Sassi, presented their new motor types in combination with our CONTI POLYROPE flat elevator belts.
CONTI POLYROPE Advantages
The application of CONTI POLYROPE polyurethane flat belts has many advantages - not only compared to the use of conventional steel ropes, but also compared to similar solutions that work with double-sided flat belts. Thanks to the external grooves, narrower traction pulleys and deflection pulleys can be used with POLYROPE belts. Another option is to fit more belts to the normal pulley width to achieve higher load capacity as well as better and safer belt guidance.
CONTI POLYROPE elevator belts can be selected from 6 types. All of them are certified for passenger lifts according to EN 81-20/50 and the EU Lifts Directive 2014/33/EU.

Belts Instead of Wire Ropes
The presentations of the leading manufacturers of elevator technology generally confirmed the direction of technological development in recent years, which includes the application of flat belts for traction drives of elevators.
Compared to conventional wire ropes, belts allow to achieve a longer service life with lower operating and maintenance costs. Quiet operation and reduced requirements on the dimensions of the drive solution are also major advantages. They are already gradually replacing conventional rope elevators and this trend can be expected to accelerate further.
Interlift Fair
Europe's largest trade fair for lift technology was held in the German city of Augsburg, as it is every two years. From 17 to 20 October, exhibitors from all over the world presented their products.
Around 19,000 experts from more than 110 countries joined 500 exhibitors to learn about innovations and trends in the elevator industry. The trade fair has thus managed to return to the level before the covid-19 pandemic. However, this is the last time it will be held here; next time, according to the organisers' plan, Interlift should move to the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre.
