CONTI SYNCHRODRIVE for Lifting and Elevator Applications
HTD 14M XHP and HTD 20M reinforced polyurethane timing belts are the strongest linear timing belts currently manufactured.
Advantages of CONTI SYNCHRODRIVE timing belts:
- Very high dynamic strength and load capacity
- Minimal extension
- Very high accuracy
- Low wear, low maintenance requirements
- Long service life and long replacement intervals

Reinforced timing belts with extremely high tensile strength for use with vertical systems as Kardex, rack stackers and other vertical racking systems.
For a better idea, let's compare their strength values with the basic common timing belt of the HTD 14M profile in the HP design.
Comparison of the Strength of Individual Types of Timing Belts
Permissible tension member load Fzul in N at an elongation of 0.4% and a belt width of 100 mm (values for other widths can be calculated linearly):
Belt Version | Description | Fzul |
---|---|---|
14M - 100 HP | Standard version | 21 000 N |
14M - 100 HS | Reinforced version | 25 000 N |
14M - 100 XHP | Reinforced version | 47 600 N |
14M - 100 XHP II | Reinforced version (customer made only) | 61 880 N – estimated Manufacturer states 30% higher strength than XHP. |
20M - 100 HP | Standard version | 62 500 N |
We can see that XHP belts offer more than twice the strength of standard belts. The strength of the XHP II design is then approx. 30% higher. In practice, this means that, depending on the acceleration, the standard belt in the HTD 14M profile can lift loads of up to 2 tons, the reinforced XHP up to 4.5 tons, and the largest HTD 20M belt up to 6 tons.
The breaking force Fmax corresponds approximately to a coefficient of 4 of the permissible tension member load Fzul.
